This fall, hundreds of dedicated volunteers will come together at Black Desert Resort to help bring the Bank of Utah Championship to life—creating an unforgettable experience for players, fans, and the community. The impact of your involvement extends beyond the rope lines. The Bank of Utah Championship is about more than world-class golf—it’s about giving back to communities across Utah. Volunteer support helps power the championship’s charitable initiatives, including the Bank of Utah Financial Literacy Program in partnership with The Policy Project and youth development programs with First Tee – Utah. Together, these efforts provide real-world life skills, mentorship, and opportunities that help young people build confidence and create stronger futures.

CADDIE SERVICES (Committee Code Required)*

Volunteers will be responsible for caddie registration, caddie bib distribution and pick up, distribute and collect towels, and provide general services for the PGA TOUR caddies during the event. Volunteers assigned to this committee may be asked to help in other Resort services tasks, such as credentialing, Honorary Observers ticket holders, and more as they arise.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of four shifts.
  • Monday through Sunday shifts only.
  • Remain professional and courteous to all PGA TOUR players, officials, and members of the media.
  • Training will be provided

CART BARN

Volunteers will manage inventory, distribution, and collection of golf carts each day during tournament week. Volunteers will assist in the management of overall cart procedures and plan as designated by tournament office staff. Volunteers will also ensure carts are fully charged and keys are returned at the end of each shift. Any cart issues are to be reported to Operations staff. Previous golf cart experience is highly recommended.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three shifts.
  • Monday through Sunday shifts only.
  • Requires standing/walking for long periods of time, outside in all weather conditions.
  • A PGA TOUR Golf Cart Safety form is required prior to the start of tournament week.

COMPETITION MOBILE SPOTTERS

Volunteers will help locate and flag shots that miss the fairway/green and relay pertinent information to the PGA TOUR Scoring Tech such as penalty situations, obstructed shots, and detailed locations. This role helps the PGA TOUR deliver real-time distance data and statistics for scoreboards, TV, internet, gaming, and mobile applications. This committee is essential to collecting and distributing real time scoring and statistical data.

Volunteers should have a basic knowledge of the game of golf and a commitment to timeliness, accuracy, and attention to detail. Quickly locating shots not in view for the Scoring Tech or Camera System is a key function of this role as it is vital to be able to gain accurate insight into the location of each shot.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three shifts.
  • Thursday to Sunday shifts only, with Saturday and Sunday being ALL DAY only — based on rolling tee times.
  • Requires standing for long periods of time, outside in all weather conditions.
  • Remain professional and courteous to all PGA TOUR players, officials, and members of the media.
  • Must complete a ShotLink disclosure form.
  • Have extensive knowledge of golf rules and proper etiquette.
  • Training will be provided.

GALLERY MANAGEMENT - MARSHALS

Volunteers will assist tournament security and help manage the flow of spectators during the tournament to ensure continuity of play, gallery safety, and the safety of the PGA TOUR professionals. Volunteers ensure that players are not disturbed during play and enforce golf etiquette and security among the spectators. Volunteers are responsible for keeping spectators behind the ropes, and players and officials inside the ropes. They are stationed at each tee, landing areas, putting greens and crossovers. Shift times will vary based on hole assignment. Volunteers in this committee are also to assist the Spotters committee to locate errant golf shots.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three shifts.
  • Wednesday through Sunday shifts only, with Saturday and Sunday being ALL DAY only — based on rolling tee times.
  • Requires standing for long periods of time, outside in all weather conditions.
  • Have extensive knowledge of golf rules and proper etiquette, as well as tournament operations.
  • Must be able to locate and protect any errant golf shots.
  • Training will be provided.

GOLF CHANNEL: TV SPOTTERS

Volunteers will work with television production members in monitoring tournament leaders for broadcast. Spotters volunteers will be assigned to walk with groups that will be shown specifically in Golf Channel coverage. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting onsite spotting/scoring coordinator with orders, notifying staff when players address the ball, when there is any delay, ruling, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Thursday through Sunday is required for all volunteers in this committee.
  • Golf knowledge is required.
  • May be assigned to shuttle broadcast staff via cart.
  • A PGA TOUR Golf Cart Safety form is required prior to the start of tournament week.
  • Remain professional and courteous to all PGA TOUR players, officials, and members of the media.

GUEST SERVICES AMBASSADORS

Volunteers on this committee work to create a premium spectator experience for all. They support ticket purchases on guest mobile devices and educate attendees on how to display their mobile tickets for scanning at the admission gates, as well as responsible for overseeing informational booths and providing general information to attendees. Volunteers will also provide directory assistance and general information to spectators, including restroom and concession stand locations, lost and found and corporate hospitality locations. Volunteers will be located at various locations on-course.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three shifts.
  • Thursday through Sunday shifts only.
  • Have good communication and people skills.
  • Requires standing for long periods of time.
  • May be assigned to entry scanning and should be comfortable with the operation of computers/mobile devices.
  • Have exceptional knowledge of course and tournament operations for any frequently asked questions.
  • Training will be provided.

HOSPITALITY - 18TH GREEN SKYBOXES + CABANAS

Volunteers will manage the day-to-day operations of the corporate hospitality facilities with a “110% customer satisfaction approach.” Volunteers will assist corporate partners in hospitality areas by checking, scanning, and issuing proper wristbands at venue entrances, overseeing daily general flow, as well as providing information and friendly customer service to corporate guests. Volunteers will also assist in the general upkeep and appearance of the facility.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three shifts.
  • Thursday through Sunday shifts only.
  • Requires standing for long periods of time, outside in all weather conditions.
  • Have good communication and people skills.
  • Communicate any needs + critiques with Chairpersons/Championship Staff when necessary.
  • Training will be provided.

HOSPITALITY - GREATER ZION CLUB

MEDIA CENTER

Volunteers will assist in the operations of the media center. Responsibilities include registering the media, answering questions, assisting with interviews, and distributing information and scores. Volunteers will also assist with microphones in the interview room, transport media to various parts of the golf course via carts, and pass out proper materials. Basic understanding of golf and proper cart etiquette are preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three shifts.
  • Monday through Sunday shifts only.
  • Remain professional and courteous to all PGA TOUR players, officials, and members of the media.
  • Training will be provided.

PGA TOUR CHILDCARE (Committee Code Required)*

The PGA TOUR Childcare committee provides care for players’ children during tournament week alongside professional PGA TOUR childcare staff. Duties include various educational, outdoor and field trip activities. All volunteers on this committee must complete and pass a background check.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three shifts.
  • Wednesday through Sunday, midday shifts only.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A background check must be completed.

SHUTTLING - PLAYERS/OFFICIALS

Volunteers will drive multi-passenger carts responsible for the transportation of players and caddies on course to designated areas. Routes may include rough terrain on course or around concentrated areas with lots of foot traffic. Volunteers may also be asked to dispatch carts to keep flow of traffic and transportation. Volunteers will be located at various locations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must work a minimum of four shifts.
  • Monday through Sunday shifts only.
  • Remain professional and courteous to all PGA TOUR players, officials, and members of the media.
  • A PGA TOUR Golf Cart Safety form is required prior to the start of tournament week.

SHUTTLING - SPECTATORS

SHUTTLING - VOLUNTEERS

STANDARD BEARERS

Volunteers will accompany each group of professionals during play and display their scores in relation to par on a cumulative basis. You must be able to walk all 18 holes and carry a standard (weight approximately 5 to 7 pounds). You will also be responsible for putting together your standard prior to each shift. Young adults, ages 13–18, may volunteer for this committee on approval of the Committee Chairman, and guardian(s) must register as a volunteer to walk with them.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of four days, with Wednesday through Friday being mandatory.
  • Wednesday through Sunday shifts only.
  • Have knowledge of proper golf rules and etiquette.
  • Capable of walking the full course and standing for extended periods of time with proper equipment.
  • Requires lifting and physical activity.
  • Training will be provided.

VOLUNTEER SERVICES

Keep the volunteer hospitality center, known as Volunteer Headquarters, open and available to all volunteers during tournament week. Ensure beverages and food items are available for uniformed volunteers working each day. Some volunteers – midday – will be responsible for ensuring beverages and food items are available and accurately delivered for uniformed volunteers working each day out on course. Volunteers will work closely with the supply distribution committee to make sure that Volunteer Headquarters is stocked at all times with appropriate materials and supplies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three shifts.
  • Tuesday through Sunday shifts only.
  • Must be comfortable with the operation of computers and mobile devices.
  • A PGA TOUR Golf Cart Safety form is required prior to the start of tournament week.

WALKING SCORERS (Committee Code Required)*

Volunteers will accompany each group of players and input scores and statistics into an LPGA TOUR supplied handheld device. All scorers will be equipped with radios to communicate with Scoring Control. Shifts are approximately five hours and each volunteer will be given a tee time; shift times will vary based on hole assignment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work a minimum of three full days.
  • Wednesday through Sunday shifts only, with Wednesday being required.
  • All volunteers in this committee must work the Wednesday Pro-Am.
  • Have extensive knowledge of golf rules and proper etiquette.
  • Must be able to walk the full course, in all weather conditions, while utilizing proper equipment.
  • Must be comfortable with the operation of computers and mobile devices.
  • May be assigned to a standby scoring shift.

Instructor-led training is offered prior to the tournament, TBD. You must attend the training session.
